Gustav Adolf Schmitt is based in Nierstein, in the heart of the vineyards along on the banks of the Rhine River. We look back to a history of more than 400 years. The winery has been exporting wines for nearly 200 years, and was among the first to pioneer the overseas markets such as Japan and Canada. Today Gustav Adolf Schmitt is  well known around the world.

Our philosophy: the basis of our passion for quality is our “Grape to Bottle” vertical integration. By managing every step in the production process we are able to enhance wine quality. Our viticulturalists determine the optimal maturity date for harvest. Our growers deliver grapes to our state-of-the-art wineries which allow our winemakers to craft wines according to our customers specifications. Making world class wines with a unique character is our goal. We combine innovative winemaking practices with time honored techniques, always in harmony with nature.
